Originally known as Northwest Memorial Gardens, Skyline Memorial Gardens was established in 1953 by Fred Collins as a cemetery only. In 1957, Mr. Collins personally helped install the Italian marble sculptures that are featured throughout the cemetery.
By 1962, Mr. Collins’ dream to build a funeral home in conjunction with the cemetery became a reality, making Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home the first combination facility in Oregon. Mr. Collins owned and operated Skyline until his death in 1975, at which time the location was sold to a private individual and then sold again in 1985, becoming the Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of today.
After this sale, 68 acres were sold and are now the upscale homes surrounding our property. Skyline Memorial Gardens now has 14 traditional gardens, three distinctive cremation areas, exclusive private estates, mausoleums and lawn crypts. Our property also features a Patriot Pathway exclusively for veterans.
